If Billy Shaw hadn’t been a little stubborn, he may have ended up playing in the NFL with a star on his helmet instead of becoming a star in the AFL with the Bills. An All-American offensive tackle at Georgia Tech where he also played defensive end, Shaw didn’t appreciate Dallas’ plan to select him in the 1961 NFL draft and move him to linebacker.

Some Bills tickets already scarce
‘ The Buffalo Bills announced on Tuesday that only single seats remain for three of the team’s 2003 home games: New England (Sept. 7), Philadelphia (Sept. 28) and Washington (Oct. 19).’

‘Tickets will be available in person at the Ralph Wilson Stadium box office, the Rochester office in Pittsford Plaza, and at all participating Tops Friendly Markets. For those buying tickets at Tops, a handbill policy will again be in effect.’
Gray keeps eyes on the future
‘By the end of September last year, the Bills ranked 24th in total yards allowed and 30th in points allowed. However, Buffalo rallied the last half of the season to finish 15th overall and had a pass defense rated sixth best in the NFL. “We started out kind of slow, but I thought we made a lot of progress from the middle of the season to the end. We didn’t take advantage of some turnovers we came up with that hurt us.”‘
