‘”They played better than us,” Harrington said. “I can’t give you an exact answer, I only know what I feel, and I feel like we couldn’t move the ball. I feel like we were on the verge of clicking. But it didn’t happen. It just didn’t click.”‘

Centers’ streak ends at 143 games
‘”It just didn’t happen for me to catch the ball, but the good news is we came away with a win.”‘
Bills place Robertson on reserve list
‘The Buffalo Bills placed defensive tackle Tyrone Robertson on the reserve/non-football illness list Monday after he completed a four-game NFL suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.’
No bucking this trend – Answers not forthcoming
This morning the Patriots are two games out of first place in the AFC East and a game and a half behind the second-place Buffalo Bills. The Bills are 5-3 because Belichick gave aid and comfort to the enemy when he turned Drew Bledsoe over to them. Bledsoe has now thrown for more than 300 yards in half the games he’s played this season and his team is a half-game out of first place with the season half gone and the Patriots heading to Ralph Wilson Stadium next Sunday.
Bills Notebook: Injured Players Scheduled To Return To Practice
Gregg Williams on the team’s progress: “This is the midway point of the season. We’ve got a bunch of tough matchups here. We’ve made some progress but we can’t stay where we’re at. If we don’t improve… The good teams will start to stand out in November and December. The teams that show up in November and December give you a chance to play in January. So we’ve got a long ways to go.”
The Bills might have to be taken seriously
‘What makes the plot more intriguing are the troubles of the Patriots, who have lost four straight games. It lets second-guessers wonder whether New England should have dealt Bledsoe, especially to a team in its own division, and kept Tom Brady.’
Favre Tops Midseason Awards
OFFENSIVE MVP: Drew Bledsoe — His career has been reborn in Buffalo and the Bills might return to the glory days of Jim Kelly and company. Drew leads the NFL in passing and the 23-10 victory against the Dolphins in Miami convinced me he’s worthy of this award. He’s on course for 5,000 yards passing, and 32 touchdowns. Both would be career highs!
Bills settling into victory routine
‘The Bills let Detroit stay around a little longer than they would have liked, but put them away at the end. And that, more than the scorching early-season overtime wins over Minnesota and Chicago, makes this surprising 5-3 start more than a fluke.’
Lions Fall to Bills, 24-17
‘The real difference in this ballgame was the quarterback play. While Drew Bledsoe turned in another outstanding performance, going 21-of-36 for 302 yards and a touchdown (94.9 rating), Harrington struggled, putting together a 20-42 performance for just 199 yards one touchdown and one interception (59.5 rating).’
Game Notebook vs. Detroit Lions
Eric Moulds and Peerless Price are still #1 and #2 in the NFL in receiving yards with 785 and 743, respectively. Moulds & Price rank #2 and #3 in the NFL in receptions with 57 and 51, respectively, and they trail only Indy’s Marvin Harrison (58).

Bledsoe continues brilliance
‘After knocking off wretched Detroit, a loser of 12 consecutive road contests, by a score of 24-17, the Bills are 5-3. And optimists, the ones with narrow September losses to the Jets and Broncos in mind, suggest that they could be 6-2 or even 7-1. And there are, chiefly, three reasons for this: a) Bledsoe, b) Bledsoe, and c) Bledsoe.’

Fourth-and-none
‘"We thought we had something there,” Lions head coach Marty Mornhinweg said of the ill-fated play. "It was simple. We just didn’t get it done. Good football teams make those plays."’
