Bills’ Brown, Jennings to miss Vikings game
‘Bills coach Gregg Williams said on Wednesday Brown is close to being cleared to resume practicing, and Jennings isn’t expected to miss a significant period of time.’
Whispers from around the NFL
‘This could be a make-or-break camp for three Bills veterans: DE Erik Flowers, who is struggling with a neck injury, DE Bryce Fisher and WR Jeremy McDaniel. Trade rumors continue to float around Buffalo regarding RB Shawn Bryson. The thinking is that the Bills are waiting for another team to have an injury at RB, after which they can make an offer. Bryson is currently slated to be the primary backup for Travis Henry, but the Bills have two other RBs who could fill that role in Sammy Morris and Richard Huntley. Don’t be surprised if Bills guard Marques Sullivan supplants veteran Jerry Ostroski as the starting right guard. Ostroski remains on the PUP list with a leg injury, and Sullivan has been playing very well.’
Bills cut Bradley, Fletcher
‘Both were late acquisitions, signed just before the start of training camp.’
Experience seasons Newman
"Sometimes you can put too much pressure on a guy when he’s in his third year… and I think that (happen) to Keith," Bills defensive coordinator Jerry Gray said. "(In 2000, he was) starting and dominating and then you have to play like Sam and you have to play in the nickel, the dime and the ruby (cover packages) – to me, it was actually too much, but he took it and didn’t complain. He did his job and I think that will help Keith this year."
Bill release 2 UFDA’s
The Bills today announced that the team has released CB Jykine Bradley and WR Delrico Fletcher. Bradley, a 5-10, 182-pound defensive back out of Middle Tennessee signed with the Bills as a free agent on July 17. Fletcher, a 6-1, 200-pound wide receiver out of Rutgers signed with the Bills as a free agent on July 23.’

Bills try to teach high schools lesson – anyone can help with heat
"At the professional level, we can have more. We have a staff doctor on hand at all times, IVs and complete first-aid facilities. High schools have water, but they don’t have money for anything else," says Carpenter, whose team has a shed at his training camp piled high with case after case of Gatorade and another indoor facility to help cool overheated players. But a high school could find $30 for a pool that could help prevent a heat-stroke tragedy.
Chris Brown: Veteran defensive lineman Shawn Price has passed physical
On several occasions the Buffalo Bills have maintained they have an interest in Price and were waiting for him to be physically healthy before opening discussions on a possible contract. The Bills will presumably put him through their own physical exam, but talks between the two sides are expected to begin shortly if they haven’t already.
With Bledsoe at quarterback, the Bills might just be playoff contenders
‘Today, it’s a new game, hope springs again with the kidnapping of Drew Bledsoe, and with him, the biggest pothole in Buffalo has been filled.’
For Crosby, football is a block party
‘Starting fullback Larry Centers is a capable blocker. But the Bills don’t want to wear him down in all short-yardage and goal-line situations during the year. That’s where Crosby comes in.’

‘"That’s the nature of this game: Guys get hurt. The teams that are successful are the teams that can move on and not lose a step."’
