While LaDainian Tomlinson continues his quest to break the school single-season rushing record of 1,611 yards, an interested observer is former Buffalo Bills star Kenneth Davis, who has held the mark for 15 years.
“I never really thought about the quality of competition as a factor,” said Davis, an All-American tailback in 1984 and nine-year NFL veteran. “That’s really interesting to me, but I still don’t think it should matter. With the type of stats he has run for and with the young man getting ready to smash my record, I would like to think L.T. should be considered for the Heisman. He’s definitely a great running back.”
